Ray Manzarek was an American musician, singer, producer, film director, and author. He was a keyboardist and co-founder of rock band The Doors. He was known for his skill with organ-style keyboard instruments. The band’s members also included John Densmore, Robby Krieger, and Jim Morrison.

Ray was the son of Helen (Kolenda) and Raymond Daniel Manczarek, Sr. His father was born in Wisconsin, to Polish parents. His mother was born in Illinois, also to Polish parents. He was married to Dorothy Aiko Fujikawa, until his death, with whom he had a son.
