Sienna Mae Gomez in Two-Piece Workout Gear "Never Felt (or Looked) Better"

July 2024 · 4 minute read

Sienna Mae Gomez is living her best workout life – in her exercise clothes. In a new social media post the model shows off her incredible body during a grueling workout. "i used to be so afraid of strength training because i thought it would make me 'bulky' but in reality i have never felt (or looked) better. doing a mix of weights, walking, pilates, and jogging 1-2X a week has been game changer for me mentally & physically," she captioned the post. How does she approach diet, exercise, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.

Sienna has battled eating issues in the past. "I have always loved working out, but in the past, so much of my movement and my diet revolved around being as small as possible. Dealing with disordered eating and body dysmorphia has deeply affected my relationship with exercise and health, and, on top of that, even as I got smaller, I still didn't feel good about the way I looked, let alone the level of energy or well-being I had," she revealed in a blog titled My Journey to Health.

Sienna explains that she was surprised when her trainer told her that she wasn't eating enough. "This shocked me, because I felt like my main problem was that I was overeating," she writes in the blog. "I felt heavy, weighed down and low energy. I assumed it was because I was so full of food. She helped me realize that my body really does not digest processed carbs or seed oils well at all, and that I feel my best when I'm eating a protein dense, raw fruit and vegetable diet, with some complex carbs mixed throughout. Just because that works for me, though, doesn't mean it's what will work for everyone."

Sienna explains in another blog post detailing her holistic habits that she consumes protein before caffeine. "I love coffee and matcha. I alternate between the two regularly, but recently I've really been in my latte era. I love an almond milk honey latte over ice in a cute little cup. That said, drinking it on an empty stomach is a no-go for me these days," she writes. "Drinking caffeine first thing in the morning before you've had your first meal leads to increased cortisol, which can increase inflammation, cause anxiety, and disrupt your metabolism. These days, I try to start my day with some yummy breakfast tacos or a scramble with lots of veggies. Getting protein before I get my caffeine fix helps me sustain my energy throughout the day without the midday caffeine crash I used to get."

Sienna is one of the many stars who swears by apple cider vinegar shots. "I honestly didn't know what a powerhouse apple cider vinegar was until this past year. It's incredible for detoxification, which is why I make sure to take it when I'm dealing with a cold or really any sickness. In addition to flushing out toxins, it can aid your digestive system by helping to balance blood sugar!" she says. There is limited research that ACV may help to reduce high cholesterol and regulate blood glucose levels. However, it may damage the teeth or throat due to the acidity of the mixture. The best way to take it is by mixing one tbsp of ACV with water and drinking it through a straw.

One of Sienna's mental health habits is meditation. "The first thing I do in the morning is sit outside (preferably in the sun with my cat), and do my morning prayers and meditation. Taking this time to do my breathing, talk to God, and envision my goals helps me center myself and lower my screen time. Plus, daily meditation is thought to aid in decreasing inflammation and stress inducing hormones!" she writes. "When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress," says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:

Sienna explains that working out with a personal trainer is key for her. "I knew working with a trainer was the right move for me for a couple reasons. First, I grew up dancing, and group fitness or instructor-based fitness helps keep me accountable. If I don't have someone telling me what to do as far as a workout, I will sleep through it or slack off. I know that's a luxury not everyone has, but with group classes at the gym or community centers, workout meet-ups with friends, and even apps, so much more is possible than it used to be!" she said.
